Day 32 Munich Artists Lent Challenge- Dreams Do you still have one?

Artist Demotivational: Your dreaming.  That is what you’re doing. Did you know that people who work at the local grocery store in Germany make more than a graphic designer plus they get a paid vacation.  We know one artist who gave up his profession to become a butcher.

Entrepreneurial motivation. Dreams.  Have you tapped into the dreams of Germans? What do Germans really dream about other than security and their yearly vacations?

Dreams are an important part of my creative practice and over the years, I’ve been learning the vocabulary of my dream symbols.  Today, think about one of your dreams and create an art piece using the symbolism found in your dream.  I decided to use a boat and the dream symbolism for boat is:

To dream that you are in or see a boat signifies your ability to cope with and express your emotions. Pay particular attention to the condition and state of the waters, whether it is calm or violent, clear or murky, etc.

If you are not tapping your dreams, browse through the dream dictionary and see what symbolism everyday items hold. Symbols are an easy way to add more depth and meaning to your paintings without having to use art speak. It is just one more way for people to connect with your artwork.

PS: It may seem that we are skipping days but we are not.  The challenges are posted in our Munich artists closed group on Facebook (except for on the weekends. We are trying not to work on the weekends).
